We received a warm welcome from Kat on Reception on arrival. The bar and restaurant areas were nice. Breakfast was good and staff were nice and helpful. The location was also good, close to the bus station and not too far from shops, bars and restaurants. We were in a family room. The room was okay but as we were on the top floor the windows were high which meant we couldn't see outside so it made the room a little claustrophobic to us but maybe just quirky to others. The windows did open so that was a plus. A few areas could be improved on the housekeeping front. Cleaning touch points and visible marks on tiles, furniture etc but in particular the carpet was really dusty and needed a good clean. You could feel this when walking barefoot on the carpet, though the white dusty areas in corners and around furniture were clearly visible on the dark carpet. The beds were comfy and the shower was great. Towels were also nice and white and fluffy. Kat on reception helped us with a personal issue and really went above and beyond to help us out which we were really grateful for. She really impressed us and is a real asset to the hotel!

My partner is a wheelchair user. Upon arrival the reception staff offered a personal emergency evacuation plan and had all the proper forms ready. Staff offered help but also asked how they could improve, e.g. at breakfast employees offered help but also asked if my partner would have liked to have been asked upon arriving for breakfast which could be of benefit to future disabled solo travellers. Room was well laid out with power points by the bed, emergency pull cords reaching the floor and in sensible locations, and the bathroom was well laid out. Hotel management had clearly consulted with and delivered training on disability inclusion. Staff were clearly trained well and were respectful and helpful without being patronising. Led to a very comfortable and positive experience.

nice big room,209,with large shower to match. Bed was huge, super king, and very comfortable.Room had air-conditioning, but we didn't need it for our stay.Room had features from it's history ,brick arches and original roof supports remain from its days as factory/ mill. The building has been lovingly restored, now with modern features, but still keeping it's past preserved, the open plan dining room still has the original ceiling, and large windows. A very pleasant place to have our breakfast in the morning. The hotel is situated close to the city centre, Caird hall ,and many of Dundees attractions, 15 mins walk only.Staff are very friendly and chatty. Nice touch with the Beano comic in the room, this being a Dundee born classic

Angus

Bright, spacious and really lovely interior touches like locally made fabrics. Good quality toiletries and an excellent shower. Compared to the Albert Dock conversion in Liverpool which is a similar building this is much better. Many of the small things that other hotels get wrong this that gets right - real coat hangers, windows that open, decent temperature control, no glare of appliance lights and no noisy lifts. Beautiful airy restaurant and stylish bar/lobby. And the best home made bread at breakfast. Will be back!
